SAUCY SALMON CHOWDER Rita Love Fry a small diced green pepper in butter. Add: 2 chopped ripe tomatoes (addition of clams, oysters, and 4 squares cheese scallops is optional) a tall can salmon Add about 1 1/2 quarts milk and heat. Season with salt, 1 tablespoon Lipton onion soup, paprika and 1/2 cube butter. Serve hot with paprika sprinkled on after in serving bowl. Note: I created this recipe to resemble a "Seafood Pan Roast" which was served at the Thunderbird in Las Vegas. Basic Soup Broth Use any of the following: - Liquid that meat cooked in - Liquid that veg cooked in (such as celery, cabbage, onion, asparagus) - Canned broth (consomme) - Lipton onion soup mix Dried peas + dried beans + dried lentils have directions on the bag. Celery, carrots, and parsnips add nice flavor. Thickening of broth can occur naturally by soft vegetable or add cool liquid to flour making a paste and adding more liquid thinning the paste. Pour a slow stream into soup stirring rapidly. Bring to boil & that thickens. 2 T. flour make it thick as gravy
