( Crabapple pickles )
1 gallon crab apples
8 or more cups sugar
3 cups water, 4 cups vinegar
Wash and pierce each apple with thin needle or (crochet hook) Heat liquid and the spices in a bag until all sugar is dissolved. Cool, add apples + simmer until tender. Let stand over night, add cold apples in hot Ball jars, pour syrup over apples and process 5 minutes in hot water bath.
