1989 — Un-Baked Indian Cracker Bars From Grandma's kitchen — Chapel Maine (Glazed) From Grandma 24 crushed graham crackers 1 cup (chopped) walnuts 1 cup (chopped) coconut Mix together in large bowl, and set aside. In small sauce pan over water or in double boiler, cook about 10 minutes: 1/2 cup margarine 1 square Semi-sweet chocolate (chopped fine) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 egg slightly beaten Remove from heat and pour over the crackers, nuts & coconut. Mix well. Pour into 13 x 9 x 2 cake & press down. Ice with topping: Topping 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 square chocolate (chipped) 1/8 cup margarine 5 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla Cook one minute after it comes to a boil, stirring constantly as it burns easily. Spread on cake bars & let cool before cutting. 🙂 Meal Trivia: Eleanor Forsberg, "Grandma" "Mama" took over cooking for the family when she and Fritz Forsberg "Grandpa" "Daddy" came to stay with us in New Hampshire a month each summer.
