Nana Gullage's Dumplings with Sugar Sauce

Serves 6 or 7
Make sugar sauce first and refrigerate:
3 eggs - Beat until foamy
Beat in { 1 c. brown sugar (med. granulated) 1/2 c. white sugar and spices - 1/4 t. cloves + 1/2 t. cinnamon and 1 t. vanilla
Dumplings:
Blend dry ingredients:
3 c. flour
6 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
Have large pan half full of boiling water - salted. 1 1/2 Qt
Mix milk and water (approx. 2 cups) with dry ingredients to kneading consistency.
Knead and cut off pieces size of small fist.
Drop into boiling water.
Cover and cook 10 min.
Serve hot with sugar sauce.
