``` Sweets and Treats 99 Microwave Cooking QUICK BAR COOKIES (FROM MIX) Power Select : MEDIUM Approx. Time : 7 minutes Approx. Yield : 16 bars 1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chip cookie mix Ingredients as package directs Set Power Select at MEDIUM. Prepare mix according to package directions. Spread dough into ungreased 8 or 9-inch round baking dish. He et 5½ to 6½ minutes. Let stand, covered, until cool. Store, covered, until ready to serve. SIX LAYER BARS Power Select: MEDIUM Approx. Time: 12 minutes Approx. Yield: 32 bars ½ cup butter or margarine, melted 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk 1 package (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 can (3½ oz.) flaked coconut (about 1 cup) 1 cup finely chopped nuts Set Power Select at MEDIUM. In each of 2 (8-inch) square baking dishes, pour ¼ cup butter. Sprinkle with ¾ cup graham crumbs; pour ½ cup condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with ½ of chocolate, coconut and nuts; press down slightly. Heat, one dish at a time, 5 to 6 minutes. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes; chill. Cut into squares to serve. S'MORES Power Select: HIGH Approx. Time: 1 minute Approx. Yield: 4 cookies 8 graham cracker squares 2 milk chocolate candy bars (1½ oz. ea.), halved 4 marshmallows Set Power Select at High. For each cookie, arrange 1 graham cracker in center of paper napkin or paper towel; top with chocolate and marshmallow. Cover with graham cracker and wrap in napkin. Arrange on glass oven tray or heat ¾ to 1 minute; let stand 2 minutes before unwrapping. Custards and Puddings HEATING PUDDING AND PIE FILLING MIXES *Combine ingredients according to package directions. *Use a glass container twice the volume of the mix. *Stir twice during heating time. *Chill before serving (stir rice and tapioca pudding occasionally). | ITEM | APPROX. Yield : 6 servings 2 cups milk 4 eggs, beaten ½ to ⅔ cup sugar ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Ground nutmeg Set Power Select at MEDIUM. : Total Time 24 mins In 1-quart glass measure, milk mixed 5 mins heat milk 4 to 5 minutes or until scaled; quickly stir in D custard ml-1 min sugar and vanilla. Pour into 6 greased custard cups (6 oz. ea.); sprinkle with nutmeg. On glass oven tray, arrange dishes in circular pattern. Set Power Select at MEDIUM-LOW. Heat 7½ to 9 minutes or until custard is set. Let stand until cool. Variation: For CARAMEL CUSTARD, in small glass bowl, heat ½ cup sugar and 3 tablespoons water at Power Select HIGH 4 to 5 minutes or until sugar is melted and light brown. Pour into greased custard cups, tilting cups to coat bottom. Proceed 39 directed above.
