GRANDMA GREAT'S COOKIES
½ c. shortening (Crisco)
½ c. margarine
1 c. sugar
2 large eggs
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
Apricot jam
Preheat oven to 400°. Cream sugar and "fats." Add eggs and mix. Add dry ingredients; mix. Roll out dough on a floured board. Cut into 2½ inch squares. Put ½ teaspoon jam on each square; fold diagonally (do not press closed). Bake 10 minutes.

SAUCEPAN PEANUT COOKIES

1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1½ c. peanut butter
4 c. cereal flakes
Mix corn syrup and sugar in 3 quart saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in the peanut butter, then the cereal. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper to form cookies.

PATTY'S CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES

2 c. sugar
½ c. cocoa
½ c. butter
½ c. milk
3 c. oatmeal
1 c. cocoanut
1 tsp. vanilla
In a 3 quart saucepan, bring first 4 ingredients to a boil over medium heat. Boil 3 to 4 minutes. Add next 3 ingredients, stirring quickly. Drop by spoon onto wax paper to make cookies.
